We met on the Internet, became friends on the Internet, wrote a novel together on the Internet, fell in love on the Internet and then wed. Cyberdance is our story, the true story of a love and marriage that couldn't have happened until the Internet made the world a village.

But it is also the story of the whole phenomenon of Internet romance, an exploration of how cyberspace is changing the way we meet, interact and even court. Thousands of people have already met their lovers and spouses online, and others embark on the same adventure every day. The Internet changes everything, making even the ancient dance of love and life as young as tomorrow.

When we first ‘met' in cyberspace several years ago, we lived 8,000 miles apart. There is a formidable age gap. We come from two different worlds: Alma was born in Yugoslavia, grew up in Africa, and then moved to New Zealand; Deck is the quintessential American — insular and virtually untraveled. Alma is conservative, Deck liberal.

Between us we have published seven books, including Letters from the Fire, a novel written together while we were still living a half world apart, and Alma's two-volume fantasy, Changer of Days, published by HarperCollins.

Alma's newest book, The Secrets of Jin-shei, written under the pen name Alma Alexander, is being published in seven countries and four languages and has been described by a reviewer as "a graceful exploration of the heart."

We are currently preparing Cyberdance for publication.
