ALMA HROMIC DECKERT was born in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia and spent the next thirty years living in three African countries and in New Zealand before moving to the United States following her marriage in 2000. She is the author of six books, ranging from an autobiographical memoir, Houses in Africa, to the international sensation, The Secrets of Jin-shei, published under the pen name Alma Alexander. Jin-shei is being published in seven countries and four languages and has been described by a reviewer as "a cross between The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood and The Joy Luck Club with elements of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon."
DECK DECKERT worked as reporter and editor at several Metropolitan newspapers, including the Miami Herald and Miami News, during the turbulent 60s and 70s. After he left the newspaper business, he turned to freelancing for business clients, and regional and national publications, writing on everything from alligator farming to UFOs. In addition to the novel "Letters from the Fire," co-authored with his wife, he has published two young adult novels and is working on a mystery featuring a pagan P.I.
